The Quality-of-Life Plan

SCI Eastern North has spent the last year in a Quality-of-Life planning process, which is designed to transform the community's dreams into a long term, comprehensive plan for the neighborhood.  We have acquired funding from several well known funders to support the SCI program. By engaging residents, stakeholders, community groups and a planning firm, SCI Eastern North gathered input, suggestions, strategies and hopes for the neighborhood and compiled them into a plan, which can be viewed here (note: the file is 53MB, so it will take a few minutes to load in your browser. You can also right-click and select "Save file As" to download a copy) .

The centerpiece of the planning process was the Community Visioning event last November, which brought 200 residents and stakeholders together to create a vision for the neighborhood. Check out the video below:

 

On June 27, 2011, the Quality of Life's roll out party was a huge success. Held at the historic Feast Your Eyes building on Front Street, everyone from community members to leaders around the city attended to see the results of months of planning. Check out photos from the celebration here!
